Abstract
In the present paper, a taxonomic structure of the various histories of economics is scheduled and
analysed according to such criteria as: scope, content, and methodology adopted. Then, for each type of
history discussed the various selectivity standards are investigated in order to show each type's coherence
toward some of the more "widely used" standards. Finally, the modern approaches of historical analysis
are explored, with the pluralistic model justified as the most fruitful for the discipline of economics.
