Abstract

This paper describes a theoretical model of Profit Testing for a Life Insurance Company. The expected future
cash flows of a life insurance policy and the present value of future profits are estimated using discounted cash
flow techniques. After the Zillmerised mathematical reserves having been introduced the Profit Vector and the
Profit Signature are also calculated. The arithmetic results of Profit's calculation for certain applications are given.
Finally, the relationship between the Profit Testing and the Control Cycle of the Company's operation is discussed
leading to the Appraisal Value of the Life Insurance Company.
