Evaluation of effects of infrastructure on the long term viability of an investment
Abstract
In this paper a quantification is attempted of those qualitative factors that determine the attractiveness
of the wider area in which an investment is to be located. Based on this quantification, a methodology
is proposed for the evaluation of an investment viability on a long term basis and the relevant model
is applied in the North Aegean Region. In the proposed model the viability of an investment, on a long
term basis, is determined by three basic indices: the economic and social indices that form the two
coordinates of the basic image of the area accommodating the investment and a third one that expresses
the financial image of investment.
